GELENDZHIK '98
In 1998 there were 92 aviation companies and institutions from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Iraq, France, Great Britain and other countries participated in the Exhibition. There were demonstrated 25 aircraft at outer aircraft static display and in flight.
The companies exhibited the hydroplanes design and developments, interior. The avionics, aircraft equipment, engines, emergency equipment, radio communication equipment, and other aerospace industry products were exhibited on the stands. The technologies and materials of hydroaviation industry were demonstrated. At Hall "B" there was organized the exhibition of companies of Krasnodar region where stands of 24 companies were located. About 80 000 visitors attended the Exhibition.
In flight there were demonstrated such amphibious aircraft as A-40, Be-12P-200; light amphibious aircraft Be-103, A-25 "Breeze", Che-15; hydroplanes C-400 "Orka", Che-22, A-27; aircraft Be-32, IL-103, IL-38; helicopters Ka-32 and Ka-32SI, Mi-34S, Mi-14PS; MD-20 moto-hang-glinder.
Besides there were demonstration flights of 4 MiG-29 piloting group "Strizhi" of Russian Air Forces; MiG-29UB, Su-27P and a group of test parachutists of Flight & Test Complex named after Gromov (LII).
There were shown the rescue operations on water in real conditions and demonstration of geo-acoustic investigations using helicopters. There had been performed the group flight of amphibious aircraft and operation of amphibious aviation on water while sailing, maneuvering, and entering to the coastline. Sea rescue operation involving the ships of Ministry of emergency situations and NAVY, A-40 amphibian with simulation of fire extinguishing in open sea was demonstrated. Rescue operation on water of distressed crews dropping the emergency aid containers from IL-38 aircraft was demonstrated.
The Scientific-Practical Conference on hydroaviation was held from 2nd till 4th July within the scope of the salon. Representatives of 25 companies participated in the conference. There were represented 72 scientific works. Delegations of Iran, Italy, Romania, Ukraine and China took part and attended the conference.
Foreign officials and delegations, attaches, official officers and businessmen of Algeria, UK, Germany, Greece, Italy, Iran, North Korea, China, Canada, Mexico, Dutch, Peru, Romania, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Yugoslavia, and other countries visited the Gelendzhik' 98.
The salon allowed foreign and Russian aviation experts to familiarize themselves with peculiarities of maritime aviation, and see the advantages of amphibious aviation operating in the sea.
The Gelendgzik' 98 attracted attention of domestic and foreign aviation experts and businessmen to Russian maritime aviation. Gidroaviasalon provided advantages for trade contracts business, contacts and partnership establishing.

2 | The Be-12P-200 amphibious aircraft designed for working out special fire fighting equipment of the Be-200 aircraft was developed at BERIEV Aircraft Company. The Be-12P-200 was demonstrated in flight and at the static exposition of Gelendzhik Test Base. It performed water dropping. |
3 | Light amphibious aircraft the Be-103 developed at BERIEV Aircraft Company. The Be-103 is intended to perform passenger and light cargo transportation. It was demonstrated in flight and at the static exposition of Gelendzhik Test Base. The Be-103 performed lowring and escent by means of the slope to water. |
